Arsenal FC secured a 2–1 victory over Chelsea FC in a high-intensity London derby to strengthen their title challenge. Arsenal began the match with greater control, dominating possession and dictating the tempo through quick passing in midfield. Their attacking pressure paid off in the first half when they broke the deadlock after a sustained spell inside Chelsea’s defensive third. Chelsea, however, responded well and found an equaliser before halftime, capitalising on a lapse in Arsenal’s defensive organisation. The second half saw both teams create opportunities, but Arsenal maintained the upper hand in terms of territory and chances created. The decisive goal came in the latter stages, with Arsenal finishing clinically from inside the penalty area.

Chelsea pushed forward in the closing minutes in search of another equaliser but were unable to break through Arsenal’s disciplined defensive structure, allowing the hosts to secure all three points.
