Manchester United sack Amorim

Manchester United have dismissed head coach Ruben Amorim, ending a turbulent period at Old Trafford marked by inconsistent performances and growing frustration among supporters. The Portuguese coach arrived with a strong reputation after success elsewhere in Europe, but was unable to deliver the sustained improvement United had hoped for in the Premier League. Despite occasional promising displays, results failed to match expectations and the team struggled for identity and consistency. Sources suggest tensions developed behind the scenes, with concerns over tactics, communication and long-term direction contributing to the club’s decision. United’s hierarchy ultimately concluded that a change was necessary to prevent the season from drifting further off course. Amorim departs having overseen mixed fortunes, including brief runs of optimism that never fully translated into lasting progress. The club will now appoint an interim manager while the search begins for a permanent successor, as Manchester United once again look to reset and restore stability in their bid to return to domestic and European contention.
